New Trainer {X} Seasoned Trainer {} RTF {} Team Rocket {} Gym Leader {} Elite Four {}
Region and Town of Origin: Bohren, Crescent Beach City
Character's Pokemon, if not New: Psyduck (Donald)
Character Personality: At first glance, Sora's your typical over confident, adventure loving, risk taking boy. What you don't know is that... Well that's just what he is! He's a pretty simple person. He shows all his emotions well, and says what he wants when he wants. Well, to an extent. He adapts to new situations and places fairly easily due to his new-found love of traveling. His cheerful personality and friendliness gains him many friends, whether they're Pokemon or trainers. To him, his friends are some of the most important people in Bohren, and he'll do anything to protect them or make them happy.
He's not afraid to admit that his ability to make friends is one of his greatest strenghts, but he won't be quick to admitting that his over confidence mentioned earlier is one of his greatest weaknesses. He doesn't exactly know when to give up, and he believes that he can do anything the first time he attempts it. He doesn't exactly think things through before actually doing them either. When discussing something along the lines of chores or work (which doesn't include training), he instantly goes into lazy mode. Like most people, Sora much prefers relaxing than getting work done. On another note, Sora is also a little too quick to trust others, and he can be a little slower than some people due to his simple mind.
To Sora, Pokemon are regular friends. They just look a little different and you can't exactly understand them like you would a human. But friends are friends either way. Due to this view, Sora doesn't just catch any Pokemon to put in his party. Before catching a Pokemon, he really has to make a bond with them. Afterall, he wouldn't want to travel alongside someone he doesn't consider a good friend. This view also awakened a slight hatred for Team Rocket who he considers enemies of Pokemon.
Character History: Sora lived all his life in Crescent Beach City. Being in a beach environment, he gained a great love for water Pokemon, along with some skills in the water itself. Of course, other than the visiting trainers' Pokemon, water Pokemon was all he saw. While the city itself was full of nonstop activities, Sora felt as if he's already seen everything the city had to offer. The Pokemon were fun to play with, but he knew he could do more than just play with them. Hearing about countless stories of Pokemon trainers seeing new sights and experiencing a variety of different things inspired him to become a trainer himself. Being the adventurous type, he wished to travel the whole region, and to participate in all the tournaments in Bohren.
... Unfortunately he didn't have a starter Pokemon to accompany him in his journey. While he befriended many wild Pokemon in the city, none of them really bonded with him. He didn't feel right just taking one away from its home all of a sudden. That is, until he met a particular Psyduck. Their encounter took place when Sora was out for another one of his daily swims. Like a safe little boy, he never went too deep or too far out from shore. Living in the beach for so long, he even knew where most of the Pokemon liked to live. Before this day, he never encountered any Pokemon too dangerous for him to swim away from. Because of this, he was taken by surprise when a group of Carvanha suddenly swam past him. Now Carvanha weren't the fastest Pokemon around, but they were one of the scariest, especially when in a group. They're known to attack anyone who invaded their territory, and Sora knew just that. Initially, he made an attempt to swim away, but even 14 years worth of swimming proved useless to Pokemon who were always in water. When all hope seemed to be lost, a sudden yellow blur made its way through the water. He wasn't strong enough to defeat all the Carvanha by itself, but he was smart enough to outsmart them. Psyduck's Scratch attack was enough to infuriated them as he made himself bait to lead the Carvanha away from Sora.
The two met up again on shore, and there Sora invited Psyduck to go on a journey with him. They barely just met, but they both felt like they could really compliment each other. Both were rash in their own ways, with one thinking he could out-swim water Pokemon and the other practically sacrificing his own self to a stranger. When Psyduck agreed, Sora decided to nickname it "Donald." According to him, it was just a little something to announce that this Psyduck was his and no one else. And besides, it kind of did look like a Donald.
